Interface synergistic effects induced multi-mode luminescence

Mechanoluminescence (ML) has become the most promising material for broad applications in display and sensing devices, which ZnS is commonly studied one due to its stable highly repetitive ML performances. In this work, we have successfully prepared biphase on a large scale through facile in-air molten salt protection strategy. The obtained best properties, mainly attributed synergistic effects of piezo-photonic, defect, interface dislocations. DFT calculations confirmed that defects activate local S Zn sites reduce energy barrier electron transfer. much stronger X-ray induced luminescence than commercial scintillator also reached. application particles both papers inks delivers superior performance. Meanwhile, based screen printing ink able directly print paper, plastic other carriers form clear marks. These proposed paper hold great potentials information security anti-counterfeiting multi-mode properties. This work provides new avenue understand realize high-performance luminescence, inspiring more future works extend materials boosting their practical applications.
